Background
Mildura is a regional city in north-west Victoria which is several hundred kilometres from Melbourne and Adelaide.
It is a largely low-rise and low-density urban area with a semi-arid climate consisting of hot summers and cool winters. The city experiences some very hot days in summer, with temperatures exceeding 40 degrees several days per year.
The Mildura RSL includes dining, pool tables, snooker, TAB and more. The facility has undergone significant redevelopment over the years, including its car park in 2019.
Solution
The client was seeking an architectural solution while still maximising solar energy generation.
As a result, 17 PowerLite Solar Structures were designed and manufactured for Mildura RSL’s car park upgrade.
The solar panels provide a Renewable Energy addition to the facility’s grid connected power supply whilst also providing shade and shelter for patrons.
Installation was completed with little disruption to the facility’s normal operation and was handed over in 2020.
