Bunbury restroom with a slice of orange

Built for the coastal environment

There are big plans in Bunbury, Western Australia.

Blessed with superb natural assets, the seaside township is investing in its Koombana Bay precinct, in expectation of attracting more tourists from around the world to explore and invest in the region.

The restroom supplied by Landmark is a small part of a multimillion dollar project, but a critical component.

The custom-made orange aluminium ventilation screen immediately draws the eye. Designed to match the overall colour/style theme of the park, the screen dominates the front and sides of the Coastal Restroom, modified to meet the demands of the coastal environment.

The restroom’s metal posts, rafters and battens are all two-pack finished, all fixtures are heavy duty stainless steel, wall frames are aluminium, and the external walls are fibre cement board (FCB).

LED lights, a lock-out system on all doors increase the restroom’s security, as does the service duct at the rear which keeps toilet systems safe from vandals.

The restroom is disability focused, offering a unisex accessible cubicle complete with a baby change table, and a unisex ambulant.

Landmark managed the project from consultation, through drafting, manufacturing and installation.

Meanwhile, throughout the rest of Koombana Bay, there is a new amphitheatre, renovated kiosk and playground and the redeveloped Dolphin Discovery Centre – combining to create a world-class, waterside tourist destination.
