Standing strong in corrosive environments

Aluminium offers long-life and low maintenance

Aluminium shelters are the ideal choice for a seaside council such as Wanneroo in Western Australia.

The salt air is thick along the Western Australian coast thanks to the famous Fremantle Doctor, the stiff afternoon sea breeze that whips up almost every afternoon.

Landmark recently supplied and installed five new Avalon shelters (4m x 4m) in three locations around the council, with roof frame, posts and optional front screen all built with corrosion resistant clear anodised aluminium.

And the locations don’t get too much closer to the sea – at Bayeux Gardens, Port Kennedy, and Safety Bay Foreshore.

Full stainless-steel fittings, ultra-grade Colorbond© roof, and inground posts increase the weather-proofing of the shelters further.

Installation work at the locations included the demolition of existing slabs and shelters and installation of new exposed aggregate slabs for the shelters.

As part of the project, Landmark also supplied and installed five disable compliant San Remo picnic table and bench setting with bolt-down legs, and two double hotplate barbecues.

Landmark recently released a new range of aluminium shelters – the Brighton – which are built with the same strength as Avalon, but through streamlining supply chain and production, delivering a more affordable option.
