In 2011 Cyclone Yasi hit the coastal town of Cardwell, leaving the foreshore in absolute ruin.
With a budget of approximately $40 million (derived from both federal and state relief funding) the repairs and upgrades to the 4 km stretch of coastline were completed in 2013.
The restroom was designed and constructed in two parts, the shelter and posts (completed by others), and the toilet facilities (walls, fit-out etc) which were engineered and supplied by
Landmark Products. This restroom is based on our steel caretaker range and was modified to suit the two part design. CPTED design principles are integrated into this restroom.
Combination Aluminium Shelters: Landmark supplied a number of combination aluminium wave design shelters built to C2 wind classification along the foreshore. Site coverage for these combination shelters are 35.2m2. Aluminium was the material of choice for this foreshore location due to the natural corrosion resistance and low maintenance it offers. All combination shelters were installed in-ground to exact engineered specifications.
Single Aluminium Shelters: We supplied a number of single aluminium wave design shelters built to C2 wind classification along the foreshore. Site coverage for each shelter is 21.5m2. Aluminium was the material of choice for this foreshore location due to the natural corrosion resistance and low maintenance it offers. All single shelters were installed in-ground to exact engineered.
