Blacktown Showground Redevelopment

Santa & Cole outdoor furniture and our own expanding range of Australian designs enables us to provide appropriate furniture solutions most uses and environments. Blacktown City Council Landscape Architects selected Santa & Cole’s Moon seats, designed by Enric Batlle & Joan Roig, for the recent redevelopment of the Blacktown Showground.

According to Brad McArthur, Landscape Architect for Blacktown's Asset Design Services, “the 17.64ha Blacktown Showground site is an integral parcel of Open Space within the curtilage of the Blacktown CBD and forms part of Blacktown’s rich agricultural history. The Blacktown Agricultural Society’s Show has been held at Blacktown Showground since its inaugural event in 1922. Council has undertaken the redevelopment of the site to provide a sustainable multi-use public facility, catering to the needs of the city.

The redeveloped Blacktown Showground Precinct has been transformed into a lively cultural, entertainment and community precinct where people are able to interact both passively and actively through the provision of a range of quality cultural and recreational facilities.

The development of this benchmark facility provides a park in the City that will serve both the local community and regional visitors.”
