Timber
All timber used in the manufacture of our products is sourced from either
Sustainable Hardwood Forests or
Native Pine Plantations - both managed by the Australian Government Department of Primary Industries.
Please refer to
www.dpi.qld.gov.au/forestry/
We select our timber suppliers on the basis of whether they have a system for
Chain of Custody in place. Please
refer to
www.forestrystandard.org.au/3manufacturer.asp
We elect not to use imported timbers unless sources are guaranteed to be sustainable by having at least
FSC
Certification. Please refer to
www.fsc.org
Our timber off-cuts are recycled wherever economically possible into usable longer lengths by a process known
as
finger-jointing.
Our products are designed to last for many decades but eventually timber is re-usable and of course is ultimately
100% biodegradable.
Our preferred timber preservation process uses
LOSP (Light Organic Solvent Preservative) Please refer to
www.tpaa.com.au/losp.htm.
Steel and Aluminium
All Steel and Aluminium used in our products are
100% recyclable.
