Timber
All timber used in the manufacture of our products is sourced from either Sustainable Hardwood Forests or Native Pine Plantations - both managed by the Australian Government Department of Primary Industries.
Please refer to www.dpi.qld.gov.au/forestry/
Growing trees absorb carbon dioxide and store the carbon so efficiently that about half the dry weight of a tree is carbon that remains locked up for the life of the wood even when we use it in our products. Please refer to www.naturallybetter.com.au.
We select our timber suppliers on the basis of whether they have a system for Chain of Custody in place. Please
refer to www.forestrystandard.org.au/3manufacturer.asp
We elect not to use imported timbers unless sources are guaranteed to be sustainable by having at least FSC
Certification. Please refer to www.fsc.org
Our timber off-cuts are recycled wherever economically possible into usable longer lengths by a process known
as finger-jointing.
Our products are designed to last for many decades but eventually timber is re-usable and of course is ultimately
100% biodegradable.
Our preferred timber preservation process uses LOSP (Light Organic Solvent Preservative) Please refer to www.tpaa.com.au/losp.htm.
Steel and Aluminium
All Steel and Aluminium used in our products are 100% recyclable.
Landmark Maufacturing
